Do the Jehovahs Ws on This Forum Inform Ex Members When Someone They Were Friends With Has Passed Away?

Question by Michael: Do the Jehovahs Ws on this forum inform ex members when someone they were friends with has passed away?
This is one of the ways that I have been treated incredibly cruelly by my friends and family who are die hard JWs. When a mutual friend has died, nobody even calls me to let me know. Therefore I have no ability to attend the funeral or offer my respects in any way. My friend John Galle died of cancer and I found out three years later after running into some JWs who did not know I was no longer a JW. Then my room mate at Bethel, David Gray, died suddenly of a heart attack, and nobody informed me. I just happened to have heard from a freind who also left the org, but I found out several weeks too late for me to attend the funeral. HOW CRUEL can JWs be??? I just can’t imagine knowing a disfellowshipped person who I knew to be out of the loop so to speak and then not tell them a cherished long time friend had passed away. They truly treat me as if I were dead. SHAME on Jehovah’s Witnesses all around the world for this cruel thing they do. My own brother who was also a room mate of David Gray didn’t even tell me about his death. And that hurt so much that I didn’t even get to mourn him with other friends of his.
Is there any other group that has a policy of “non-informing of passed loved ones?” I think even the hardest core cults even would take care to let excommunicated ones of the loss of a dear one. But Jehovah’s Witnesses? No way. So this question is for David Gray, John Galle, Tim Fennimore and all the other JW loved ones who are now dead, and I don’t know about, which is who knows how many I haven’t heard about. Oh, and dear old Margaret Rhinehardt, my old pioneer buddy….
i love how the JWs here, without knowing me, assume that I have done something wrong, as in some immoral action that I must repent from. Exactly “Biblical.” Yes Lioness, I am glad these JWs rear their ugly head of self righteousness and judgemental hate when they get an opportunity. Obviously I am not the only ex-JW who has been abused by the JWs. And just like the JWs, at first they cite “spiritual” reasons for shunning, but when I point out to them that they technically CAN talk to me to inform me of lost loved ones we share in common, suddenly it’s all, “Oh, we just don’t want anything to do with you and we don’t owe you anything.” I have even had a brother (fleshly brother mind you) that told me he never really liked me and that was the real reason he was shunning me. Yeah, they are a sick group of people and desperately in need of intervention. See the Candace Conti case for all the ammo you need to gag and barf your way to kingdom come.

RK is has not been proven in any scientific studies to be efficacious in humans. The active ingredient, 4-(4-hydroxyphenyl) butan-2-one, is not known to have the effect Dr. Oz stated and the side effects of RK on humans when taken orally as a supplement are not established or well understood. Hence, people with fat issues, should do as the best minds in nutrition and health on the planet, the US National Institute of Health, have been recommending for decades and avoid all supplements unless recommended by a health care professional.

How Do I Deal With My Grief?

Question by bassetfreak: how do I deal with my grief?
my 16 year old cat has been losing weight recently. I have had her to the vets 7 times since Sept 29. tried different foods, thought maybe she had a bowel infection, so tried different antibiotics, did an ultrasound – you name it – it was done. I finally had to make THE decision today – I know it was the right thing to do, because she was basically starving to death – wasn’t absorbing the nutrients from her food – but it doesn’t make it hurt any less. I miss her so much, all I have done all day is cry. If there had been anything else to do, I would have done it. When does it stop hurting? I found her in a field when she was about 4 weeks old and have had her ever since – she was my baby -and it just hurts SO bad. I don’t honestly know if I can go on without her – she’s all I had – and now I’m all alone
I have no one – absolutely no – one in this world. it was just me and Misty. I can’t even think of getting another cat, because I never want to go through this much pain again. I honestly don’t think I can go on living with this much pain – it feels like my heart has been ripped from my chest. I’m not in good health anyway-I have major depressive disorder and also have had 3 heart attacks, so I think it’s best if I join her

This has been a particualarly hard time for my family and i have been looking for a greif support group in the state of michigan that is not relgion based. There are Family counselors in the YellowPages that can refer you to a greif counselor if they themselves cannot help you.
Try looking up “counseling” in the yellowpages. I am sorry for your loss and wish you well. remember…time heals all wounds.

Comforting a child after a pet's death

After a beloved pet dies, grieve with your family through a mix of tears and funny tales. Even pirates cry. So says the Mem Fox book “Tough Boris” (Sandpiper, 1998), the story of a pirate whose parrot died, and “he cried and cried.” “Grief is not a bad …
