Death and Grieving: Euthanasia – Death and Grieving

Last week a woman whose dog I had been treating rang me up. Sadly, her pet had not pulled through and had died.

But her passing had been easy, quick and gentle. She had simply settled in her bed, apparently gone to sleep, and stopped breathing.

Understandably, the woman was very upset. But by the next day, she was much better.

This week, a horse I had been treating, was destroyed.

I am still grieving, days later and she wasn’t even mine.

Over the years, I have had many pets ‘kindly put to sleep’ by those I thought knew better than I. And I can say that with each one, I grieved for days.

Since becoming a homeopath, I now know of homeopathic medicines that not only take away the fear of approaching death, but the pain of end stage disease, too.

How Well Do “Domestic Violence Repeat Offender Programs” Work?

Question by Kitty: How well do “Domestic Violence Repeat Offender Programs” work?
My husband reached a plea agreement and they are putting him into a program with batterer’s counseling 3X a week and meetings with his probation officer 2X week.

Does anyone know how well these programs work, and what I should expect?

Thank you!!

I don’t think there is too much evidence that they work. But you can always hope.

Some times dogooders who recommend these things have no idea if it will help. Like that scared straight program, most of those kids went to jail anyway.

What do you think? Answer below!

Is Tapping Your Kid on the Forehead or Cheek to Get Their Attention Considered Child Abuse?

Question by Courtney B: Is tapping your kid on the forehead or cheek to get their attention considered child abuse?
I realize that this is a very subjective topic so all I am really interested in are facts for the state of Hawaii.

When my son turned about 13 I quit spanking him. Instead what I started to do was tap him on his forehead or cheek to get his attention. Everyone marvels at how well behaved he is and compliments me on my raising him.

I tell him that I love him everyday at least 10 times and still like to hug him to show him that I care about him. He is 17 now. I am his father.

Wrongfully Terminated Based on Retaliation & Harassment,?

Question by Jacki: Wrongfully Terminated based on Retaliation & Harassment,?
I was “counseled” in writing for going to the safety manager to get clarification on a fire safety assessment and was told I didn’t follow my chain of command. When in fact I did not only via in person, over the phone but in an email to my company manager, and safety manager.

Which I was told I was right and even apologized to by my manager. 2 weeks later they wrote me up for it, then wrote me up for again not following chain of command when there was another issue. Which in fact I did again and could prove in writing with emails that I had sent out.

In march of this year I had to write up 3 incident reports. 2 were from medical errors I found, one was from unknown origins on a client with bruises up and down her left arm.
