Video Book Trailer: Beyond Going Postal by Stephen Musacco

Video Book Trailer: Beyond Going Postal by Stephen Musacco – Beyond Going Postal: Shifting from Workplace Tragedies and Toxic Work Environments to a Safe and Healthy Organization by Dr. Stephen Musacco examines the history of violence and toxic work environments within the US Postal Service organization and its negative impacts on the health and psychological well-being of its employees. Musacco provides comprehensive evidence of the decline of the organizational culture within the Postal Service and the internal neglect, denial, and lack of accountability by postal management that fosters toxic workplace environments. This book is, to date, the most comprehensive analysis available on postal workplace violence and postal culture in general, and it includes a blueprint for postal management and government leaders to make the US Postal Service a healthier organization for its employees. Written with postal rank and file, union, management, and government leaders in mind, this book sounds a clarion call to action that cannot be ignored. Stephen Musacco retired from the US Postal Service in January 2007, as a Workplace Improvement Analyst. In his thirty-five year tenure with the Postal Service, thirteen years were in the workplace improvement area, while six were in Employee Assistance Programming. He has a doctorate in Organizational Psychology, earned in May 2000, and has a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology. Stephen has been licensed as a Marriage & Family Therapist, as well as a Certified Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor. Dr

Whats the Difference Between a Counseling Psychologist and a Mental Health Counselor?

Question by Lauren: whats the difference between a counseling psychologist and a mental health counselor?
I read that counseling psychologists make twice as much as mental health counselors. Also…..to become a counseling psychologist, do you just need bachelors and masters degrees? i dont think you need a Phd unless you become a clinical psychologist. There is also something called a Psy.D(doctor of psychology)….if I want to become a counseling psych. who works in their own practice, do i need the Psy.D? thanks, there is so much info. to find out! also, please don’t guess, only answer if you know for sure about what you are saying.
well i read that a counseling psychologist work with people(i prefer to work with children) on more typical problems instead of what a clinical psychologist does, which is helping wih more severe problems.
im in california but i dont know the rules in this state

What Should I Major in if I Want to Open My Own Business as a Child Psychologist ?

Question by TimeTraveller: What should i major in if i want to open my own business as a child psychologist ?
I’m a rising senior and it’s time to decide which college and major i want. I know somewhere down the line i’d like to open my own business for child psychology, but I’m not sure what to major in. Should i do a major in psychology and a minor in child development or a double major in both. Or maybe i should do counseling psychology ?

Also i want to be able to prescribe. Any colleges in mind would be helpful also.

You can be a psychotherapist with a masters degree (clinical or counseling psychology), as well as a PhD. Masters takes about 2.5 years of education and 3 years of supervised work before you can be on your own. PhD takes about 7 years before you can be on your own, not including post-doctoral work (about 2 years extra) and additional supervised clinical time.

Congratulations on having almost two years of sobriety! With regard to becoming a substance abuse counselor, I believe that most with a Certified Addiction Counselor (CAC) have a master’s degree which takes about six years of college, if attending on a full-time basis. There are different levels of training for addictions counseling, but most jobs prefer those with a master’s degree.
