Question by Dream Lady?: cant be alone after- lost of a friend.?
i had a very close friend of mine pass away one week ago. It hurts me so bad , firstly we shared alot of time together, he was helping me with spirtural guidance, and with life. I saw him on the last day he was alive.. and i told him i would be back to visit him @ hospital.. but i didnt come back for something had came up. I was not expecting that to be last day i see him . I think thats what bother me the most .. feeling guilty. I know God came for him , but i just really wanted to say proper goodbyes. I was blessed to tell him , thanks a number of times for being such a great friend to me. However, since his passing i can not seem to be alone. I came to my moms house for to seek confront.. but of course it wont bring him back . I have to go back home, but not sure if i can @ this time. Is going back home something i can and should consider right now .. @ times i just feel like i want to be alone, but im afraid to go to sleep and have a bad dream .. or feel something in the house … ??

Question by Claudia: I want to be a rehab therapist what do I major in college for that?
I want to be a therapist that helps drug abused women or mothers but what do I major in college? I am currently a sophomore in high school and kind of struggling in science will that make a difference? Do I have to be extremely smart for this job because I am no where near. Please help!!

I believe that you’re referring to a licensed substance abuse counselor. One may need to take college-level math while in college which may include statistics, however, I don’t believe that a counseling or social work student will need the rigorous type of mathematics such as calculus. The person majoring in counseling or social work needs to have empathy (being able to place oneself in another’s shoes) for the individual with the addiction. Communication skills and reasoning are also traits necessary for effective therapists.

Question by Kalyn: What can I do to take my mind off of a family members death?
My great grandmother passed away about a week ago of cancer. After seeing her in pain, sick, slowly forgetting how to talk and then at rest in her coffin I have been trying to stay strong about it though it’s not easy to see I know I have to move on and enjoy life while I have it. I miss her and will always love her. It’s really all I can think about and i just need some ideas that would make me feel better or something to take my mind off of it for at least a little while. Any ideas?

It is very normal to feel this way. Your own body is in shock because truly, our soul never dies. Intuitively we know there is more. You will see her again, but meanwhile it is normal to grieve.

Question by Tigerlily: I’ve come to the conclusion that I need maritial counseling but I can’t afford it right now and my spouse?
probably wouldn’t participate in it anyway. So what can I do to improve things in my marriage? Is there a website or book I could read? Are there just some general things I could do? Ultimately I would like to go for counseling, but I don’t see it happening within the next few months, and I’m ready for some things to change right now.

All I can say is GOOD LUCK! Some of my husbands habits also drive me nuts and we too can’t get to marriage counseling, and he wouldn’t go if we could… So, I am on that boat sister! Michelle

Psychology or counseling , is a field with great honors. These honors mostly go unnoticed but it is the little things that count such as being there to listen. Psychology, the study of the mind and behavior, is still a field that I am highly interested in. After researching psychology I have decided I still want to pursue the field. Psychology is a occupation that can make a difference. It is not only the study of the mind and behavior, but it helps cultivate the maturing process in one’s life.

I HAD MY DAUGHTER 14 YEARS AGO IT WAS AN OPEN ADOPTION SO I AM SOPOSED TO RECIEVE PICTURES AND A UPDATE ABOUT HER TWICE A YEAR FOR HER BIRDAY AND CHRISTMAS .. AND GUESS WHAT EVER SINCE 3 YEARS AGO I HAVENT RECIEVED ANY BECUASE THE ADOPTION AGENCY TO WHICH THE PICS AND WHAT NOT IS SENT THROUGH CLOSED DOWN AND I HAVENT RECIEVED ANYTHING ABOUT HER I WISH I COULD SO BAD I CRY ALL THE TIME CUZ I FEAR WHEN SHES 18 SHE WONT BE ABLE TO FIND OUT WHERE I LIVE AND COME MEET ME SO I CAN SEE MY DAUGHTER AND NOTHING COULD MAKE ME MORE HAPPY IN THE WORLD THEN TOO SEE HER AND NOW I WONT BE ABLE TO AND STILL HAVENT RECIEVED NO INFORMATION ON HER OR ANYTHING THE ADOPTION AGENCY JUST CLOSED DOWN TOLD ME THEY WERE CLOSING AND TOLD ME THERE IS NOTHING I CAN REALLY DO….
