I Need Money to File for Bankruptcy. Where Can I Turn?

Question by sadinLA: I need money to file for bankruptcy. Where can I turn?
I have $ 30,000 in medical and credit card debt from when I was going through cancer treatment. I have lost everything in trying to pay this down,. Recently one of the collection agencies sued me and won a judgment against me for $ 17,000.

Currently I am living on unemployment, which only pays the rent, utilities and food and nothing more. When I get a job they will start garnishments, which will leave me with just about what I get from unemployment. Not enough to save for anything.

I had a free and very long phone consultation with an attorney, but it will cost between $ 1500 and $ 2000 to file for bankruptcy, which is the only thing that will get me a fresh start at this point. Problem is, I just don’t have it. I’ve sold everything and anything of value just to keep a roof over my head.

Questions on Becoming a High School Guidance Counselor?

Question by i love you <3 :]: Questions on becoming a high school guidance counselor?
I am a highschool freshman looking into a career as a High School Guidance Counselor, and I have a few questions.

1) How many years of college/university does it take to become a guidance counselor?
2) What courses/majors should I take and/or look into?
3) I’ve been looking into Villanova University in Pennsylvania, have any counselors attended Villanova? What did you think of it? What courses did you take? How was life on campus?

Any advice, details, or information would be thoroughly appreciated. Thank you. <3 Best answer:

Answer by Lil Peter
LOL. You want to pay 40k a year at Villanova to become a guidance counselor? To be honest, I don’t even think a guidance counselor would need a college education, I don’t even think a major exists for this job. I mean you probably would need to go to college just to put it on your resume, but the only thing my counselor did for me was schedule my classes, and help me out with applying to colleges (letting me know my chances at certain schools, sending transcripts and essays). If you consider Villanova a school where you would like to attend, you must be pretty effin smart since Villanova is an excellent school.

The Government’s American Indian Policies of Termination and Relocation During the 1950s Were?

Question by ramsayramsay: The government’s American Indian policies of termination and relocation during the 1950s were?

C. failures – after working for a General Counsel for American Indian Tribes – my visits to the reservations and their life there was so sad. In later years – public housing was built and no one showed them how to use the “facilities” -so there was cooking done over coals in the bathtub. The appliances housed chickens and the running water was amazing to some who left the taps going long times and got huge bills!
