Do Modern Psychologists Think “Music Therapy” Has Therapeutic Value in Treating Psychological Problems?

Question by Geyamala: Do modern psychologists think “Music therapy” has therapeutic value in treating psychological problems?

Best answer:

Answer by trueprober
Hello Geyamala, actually musical vibrations have its own effect no doubt about it. But people who is well versed in his career and who has good intuition may come to know about it and may apply the same as one of the remedial techniques. If not so then they simply ignore and always depend only on the sleeping pills and soothing process.

Has Anyone Used a Cognitive Behaviour Therapy Book for Depression?

Question by Megan: Has anyone used a Cognitive Behaviour Therapy book for depression?
If so, how did it go? What books would you recommend??

Answer by Madworld711
Yes. I have. It works, if you stick with it. I got mine from one of my old psych’s. But, I’m sorry I don’t remember the name of it. It was from a very old author is all I remember.

Don’t take Shirley’s “doctor” advice. That’s just stupid. No real doctor in their right mind would prescribe that for someone with depression alone. That’s the same as xanax, which is for anxiety.

Online Grief Counseling?

Question by toesysinsand: Online Grief counseling?
Does anyone know anywhere online that I can find someone to talk to regarding Grief counseling for free? I lost my Mom recently and I’m not getting over it and I know it isn’t helping that I’m not talking to anyone about my feelings. I wake up every morning and the moment I open my eyes, I remember that she’s dead. It’s like reliving it all over again every single day.

Punishment…treatment Center, or JAIL?!?

Question by harmony: Punishment…treatment center, or JAIL?!?
My friends brother was arrested 2 months ago on some serious charges…in New York State. He seems to think that he is going to get off with going to a treatment center and avoid anymore jail time. He is a sever alcoholic who has had 1 prior DWI. He was drunk and drove through a 35 mph zone and 92 mph, dodged police and pulled into a parking lot to “hide.” When he realized it was a dead end, he smashed into 5 cars including a police cruiser trying to leave. He resisted arrest, and tried fighting with police officers. He only has a public defender, not a great laywer. I seriously think he is going to prison for at LEAST 1 year. Here are his charges….
