Question by Exhilarating, isn’t it?: Looking for reassurance… will the psychiatric treatment center help me?
I’ll keep this as short as possible. Due to abuse and other unfortunate events in my life I’ve developed anxiety, OCD, and depression. I tried battling this on my own for nearly two years. It’s done nothing but get worse. It is ruining my college classes, I can hardly function some days when I have a little girl to raise, I am mentally incapable of properly raising a kid in the condition im in, its ruining my relationships, and my future career as a nurse. It is ruining everything!

Ive been trying therapy (CBT) for months with little progress. Im too scared to take medication (one of my phobias) for fear they will make me worse because some have in the past. Im too afraid to take them on my own, especially when I have a kiddo with me.

A licensed mental health counselor (LMHC) typically has a master’s degree from a program accredited by CACREP. Some U.S. states use the term “licensed professional counselor” (LPC), however, both professional titles require a master’s degree.

Just an fyi that the counseling/social work (and nursing) field is supposed to have a high burn-out rate.

With regard to schooling (for any field), please do *avoid* those private For-profit schools such as devry, ITT tech, strayer, U of P, capella, argosy, regis, pima medical, keiser, Everest, concorde career and others. Their course credits usually do NOT transfer to other schools, even if the for-profit school is regionally accredited as opposed to only nationally accredited.

would you read a book about a young man who gets kidnapped getting of a bus stop by some people who call themselves “the chosen of God” and take him to an “alcoholic rehab center” building in plain view, that is unoccupied but nobody knows. Anyways there are other people in the building with him and theres no way to escape, actually theres about 3O other people. Their forced to package things for companies but are treated like slaves. They can yell all they want but nobody heares them. Occasionally they are tortured and other gruesome stuff like that. They have to eat soup made of rotten vegitables and when they get injured, most die from infection because they arent looked at by real doctors. The people who force them to work are kind of like “cult” and are crazy. The young man is there for about four months and must live through a bunch of horrors. Even though he is reported missing by his family, the police never susupect of looking in an alcoholic rehab center which seems to be in business. By the way all this takes place in San Francisco. (Something like this actually did happen, it came out on the news, although not S.F.)

Question by myBMisAhater: HOW TO FIND A GOOD CUSTODY LAWYER?
I’m currently trying to find a good lawyer for a future non-avoidable custody hearing. I am in the beginning process of trying to request mediation for an attempt to have visitation rights from my child’s mother, and I know I will eventually have to go to court to force her to follow the mediation (if she even goes). I hear things about “having a good lawyer”, but I do not know how to narrow the search down. I have been told that you can not exactly view how many cases they have won or lost, so I am trying to not overpay and end up with some idiot who screws me in court. Can anyone help out on this and possibly give me some tips on how to get the ball rolling on the research before I go to war…please? Also if you have any helpful tips on do’s and donts from now through all the hearing and children services stuff ANY info from here on can help!
