My 16-Year-Old Friend Was Sent to Intensive Outpatient Drug Rehab & Foster Care for 3 Months & Wont See Me?
Question by Chris: My 16-year-old friend was sent to intensive outpatient drug rehab & foster care for 3 months & wont see me?
He says his foster mom is very anal and wont let him hang out or call me since im in my late 20’s.
Plus, he started dating a 23-year-old ‘recovering’ crystal-meth addict he found from his group therapy. His foster mom allows that relationship but not ours. I’ve always been clean and sober.
Anyway, my friend is bi-polar, ADD, anxiety, h.s. dropout, parents never married and split, and he now works at micky dees full time.
I went to see him at his work and he basically acknowldged my presence for 5 seconds, but he wouldnt come out to talk to me. He went in the back hiding.
Drug & Alcohol Interventionist.?
Question by WTFcouRtt x3.: Drug & Alcohol Interventionist.?
This is what I want to be when I get older.
Drug & Alcohol addiction has always interested me & I want to pursue a career in it.
While watching “Intervention” on A&E, I thought about becoming a Drug and Alcohol Interventionist.
Is this a good job choice?
Are there colleges that offer training in this in New York?
Are there job openings?
How many years of college do I have to go to?
Also, What other jobs are there involving Drug & Alcohol Control/Help?
Thank you. (:

This won’t be an easy job. It’s not for the faint of heart, and is a very selfless position. I am sure there are colleges in NY. I suggest you start with one of your local ones and speak to an advisor to get you on the right track. Good luck 🙂
How Does He Stop Using Meth?
Question by dspartida: How does he stop using Meth?
Here’s the story… My husband of 1 1/2 years now, has been an addict to meth since age 16 and now is 28. He’s had a real bad childhood with abusive parents and has also been in and out of rehabs. His runs would typically run for about 2-3 months. non-stop user!
We met nearly 2 yrs ago and he said I gave him a reason to wanna quit! 6 months ago we had a beautiful daughter! Somthing he has dreamed about for many years! He loves his job, family and home! Since we have been together he has used 4 different times! Witch his family says they have never seen. We attend church and stay away from negative influences! But the way he describes it is, something in his mind just clicks and he feels like it is a battle of God and the devil fighting for him! He wants to stop be doesn’t know what to do. Any idea’s?
