Is Health Professions and Human Services High School a Good School?

Question by Cutie P: Is Health Professions and Human Services High School A Good School?
I’m an 8th grader, and I got accepted to HPHS and I want to know if you think this is a good school or not. I like it a lot, however I still would like your opinions.

P.S. > If you are not going to say anything helpful, plz do not reply to this question.

A really good answer for you depends on some things that most of us won’t know. We don’t know where this school is. Is it the one in NYC?

If you do well in high school, it is my opinion that you can’t really do wrong, no matter what school you go to. And by “doing well,” I mean, you need to have a combination of community service and/or extracurriculars, and good grades in a variety of subjects (nobody expects you to be perfect though, so don’t stress out too much).

Working With Children With Troubles?

Question by Cassi(!): Working with children with troubles?
I’m in high school, but I’m trying to look into careers.

One thing I’ve noticed I’ve always loved is helping people. ‘Specially people who’re troubled (Cancer patients, abused, neglected, down syndrome, ect.) Ick- that sounds awful, but I mean it with absolute kindness. I’ve suffered through eating disorders and abuse in my lifetime, and I would love to be able to help people with things I’ve gone through- because I look back and I wish i had someone to help me with my problems. Mainly I want to help kids and elderly- but adults as well.
So what would you consider the “dream job” for me?

Thank you! (:

I think by the sound of it, you are still upset by the fact your grandmother died… Anyone would be.

Can You Sue Your Therapist ?

Question by jackie: Can you sue your therapist ?
I was a troubled teenager and I had a therapist who was very condescending towards me.

He took all my money – prescribed me all the wrong medications that would knock me out and …due to an ‘incident’ involving a fight with .my mother – he put me in a “treatment center” – with the explanation ” You are sick”

After I came out of the hospital – I dropped out of high school – missed too many days and I felt I can never resume a normal teeange life again.

Now as an adult – I haven’t improved much mentally …having a full productive life is a bit hard for me.

I saw “In Treatment” on HBO – and I feel that my therapist d misdiagnosed and abused me with powerful medications that weren’t right for me. His ‘hospitalization” detoured my life in a severe way.
