Im Ready for a Psychologist?

Question by love: im ready for a psychologist?
i need on thats free or takes insurance in newyork plz hep

Answer by thedrisin
Try looking up the New York State Psychological Association, which should have a directory.
Or, depending on the city you live in, try the city’s local psychological association.
In addition, many graduate schools with psychology programs offer therapy at reduced prices, since the therapists are psychologists-to-be in training and supervision. Look for “counseling clinics” associated with universities and psychology programs.
Look up psychologists in the phone book or on the internet for more information as well.
Good luck!

How Can I Best Support My Hubby? He Was Raised a Jehovah’s Witness and He Is No Longer One.?

by ehoyer

Question by Sarah Townen: How can I best support my hubby? He was raised a Jehovah’s Witness and he is no longer one.?
First off I am NOT bashing JW’s
I did not grow up in that religion but he did

I am NOT looking for ways to get him to become a JW again.

I AM looking for ways to support him. I’ve learned little things over the years. Triggers, things to avoid, that kind of thing. But I want to be the best support I can be and there are so many layers to this I don’t know how to best support him when he’s needing/wanting me to support him through these times

Thanks all
Again, please respect that I am not looking to get him or us into the JW again.
thanks
hi all
thanks for the honesty in your answers

While the Christian does not engage in a physical war against blood and flesh (Eph 6:12), he is engaged in warfare nonetheless, a spiritual fight. The apostle Paul describes the war waged within the Christian between “sin’s law” and “God’s law,” or ‘the law of the mind’ (the Christian mind in harmony with God).—Ro 7:15-25.
This warfare of the Christian is an agonizing one, requiring the exertion of every effort for a person to come off winner. But he can be confident of victory through the undeserved kindness of God through Christ and the help of God’s spirit. (Ro 8:35-39) Jesus said of this fight: “Exert yourselves vigorously to get in through the narrow door” (Lu 13:24), and the apostle Peter counseled: “Keep abstaining from fleshly desires, which are the very ones that carry on a conflict [or, “are doing military service” (stra?teu?on?tai)] against the soul.”—1Pe 2:11

I Am Suicidal and Everyone Around Me Is Insane, Help?

Question by In Bloom: I am suicidal and everyone around me is insane, help?
I am 19 soon and I have struggled for so long with mental illness, for my whole life. I had a horrible childhood. My mother is very unstable and crazy, constantly blaming me for everything wrong in her life and accusing me of scheming against her. All her friends and my whole family thinks I am a terrible person who is trying to hurt my mother any way I can – they all think I ego trip them; the only sane person is my younger brother, and they all think that I have him, and I quote “wrapped around my finger”. Like I’m manipulating his thoughts so that he agrees with me. He’s the one normal person in my family, but I can see it’s even taking a toll on him.
