Small addiction treatment facilities, typically 0-36 clients at any given time, are usually single-family homes, located in residential neighborhoods. Clients live like they might at their own homes, cooking, dining, cleaning and living with other clients. Individual treatment and customized addiction treatment is often more common in small treatment facilities, due to the decreased census size and higher staff-client ratios. Large, institutional facilities, 36-200 clients, are usually not located in residential areas, rather they are located in more commercial or urban areas. Clients dont often live in a family-style environment, but in a more institutional or dorm-style setting. Group therapy is the prevalent treatment practice in large treatment facilities and there are often large on-site meetings, education opportunities, lectures, and others. http
