Left a Violent Relationship, but Now I Feel Bad.?

Question by cookiemonster: left a violent relationship, but now I feel bad.?
I broke up with my boyfriend over 2 months ago. He beat me on 2 occasions, and was sometimes controlling and verbally abusive. We were together 3 years before I came to my senses and walked away from that. There is no doubt in my mind that I did the right thing and I have no desire to return to him… I need to lookout and respect myself. However it is torturing me that I have abandoned him… I know he is a wreck know. I also know that I did the right thing for him also by not continuing to enable such horrible by staying with him. However I cannot help my emotions, it breaks my heart to know the state he is. Time will help him heal… but any words of encouragement to help me be more at ease when my emotions get the best of me?

Should I Be Allowed to Get Married?

Question by tasha: Should I be allowed to get married?
I’m 18 years old, I finished high school early and graduated with honors. I got accepted into college and have already taken some summer college classes and start full time this fall. I work part time at a boutique and I have my own apartment. I pay all my own bills. I have been in a relationship with a man since we were 12. We met in 7th grade and made it through middle school, high school, and now starting college together. We’ve already experienced many life changing events together like family deaths, rehab, moving in together, paying bills, taking care of a pet together, both working regular jobs and going to school full time. We’ve had our ups and downs but we’ve made it through everything. People go through many changes from ages 12 to 18 and I feel as if we could handle those changes together then we should be handle the next 6 years of changes as well. Our families are really close and we do lots of activities together. Me and my boyfriend have tried relationships with others but we’ve always found our way back together. We really feel like we are ready to get engaged. We don’t plan on getting married for probably 4 or 5 years but we feel like we are ready for the next step in commitment but our parents are so against it just saying we are too young. And I understand statically young marriages are likely to end in divorce, however I feel like our story is a little more unique and that we are ready to get engaged. We don’t plan on getting married until we finish college though. So I was just wondering what y’all’s opinions were on us getting engaged now but waiting for a few years before we get married? Is age really a big deal? I’m looking for some true answers. Nice comments only please. Thank you (:

A Question of “God”; a Fairytale to Scare Children With?

Question by spookykid313: A question of “God”; A fairytale to scare children with?
God is all-seeing, all-knowing, and the creator of all. Really?

My question is this: God creates the child molester just as He creates the nun, or the Gandhi-esque peoples of this world. Therefore, God creates evil.

So is God evil? God cannot create something that is not contained within him/her/it. God is everything; therefore he must be good AND evil. God created Lucifer and his minions……….Lucifer turned against God. But God should have known this beforehand, so why did he/she/it create Lucifer? If God didn’t know, then God is not all-knowing, all-seeing, or all-powerful. Why would God create something that would bring ruination and misery unto his other creations? Is God a sadist? Does God enjoy seeing us suffer and twist?
