MEPS Disqualification?

Question by Brennan: MEPS Disqualification?
Military folk I ask for your assistance.

When I was 15 I voluntarily went to a hospital for depression, due to fear of hurting myself, I never attempted suicide.

I was on celexa for around 3 years until I was 17.

I have been seeing a counselor for the same amount of time.

As of now I am perfectly fine, I haven’t taken any mental health or physical health related prescriptions in the past year, and my depression is something that is completely in my past.

I am looking to join the Navy, and I got a 90 on the ASVAB, and while I was at the recruiting center, my mom popped off in mentioning that I’m in counseling for depression, and now my recruiter has asked for my health records to send to MEPS.

My question is, will they disqualify me, even though I am medically sound?

The rules are that you have to be off of any medication for three years. Then you may be eligible for enlistment – but it would not be guaranteed.
