Is There Any Free Online Therapists?

Question by bobcatseric: Is there any free online therapists?
I need a person to talk to and I don’t want to spend any money on it. But I want someone to help me with my problem.

Answer by RWPossum
There is free online cognitive therapy for mood disorders in the form of a computer program called MoodGYM. There is person to person online counseling, but it’s not free.

Please don’t assume that you can’t afford therapy. If you take the trouble and look around, you might be surprised. Therapy is often administered as group therapy, and that can be very helpful and it’s much less expensive than therapy for one. You can start your search by calling 211 for your local United Way and googling “affordable psychotherapy” + your city.

If you’re afraid that you’re going to hurt yourself, call 911.

Which School Should I Go To?

Question by rayne2k5: Which school should I go to?
I just recently received my acceptance letters for a masters degree in mental health counseling with a lpc (licensed professional counselor) certification. Furthermore, while I have yet to hear back from Columbia University (acceptance letters are going out this week) I have been accepted to my local state university (where I currently attend), Lesley University in Cambridge Mass, and Fordham University. (all acceptance letters are for the same degree) However I am unsure which university to choose being that all of these graduate programs offer little to no financial backing other than loans. My local state university is going to cost me roughly 20,000 to complete my entire degree while Fordham is going to cost roughly 80,000 minus travel expenses because I will be commuting from CT to NYC once a week via train. While I understand that the obvious choice would be to go for the cheaper school I am wondering if spending the extra money to go to a more prestigious institution would be worth the cost and give me a better chance at gaining entrance into a PH.D program or if I should save money and then try to enter a PH.D. program.

Is Bipolar Really as Scary as It Sounds.?

Question by yabba: is bipolar really as scary as it sounds.?
I was diagnosed with it and i really truly thought that i was just having bad days. Doesn’t everyone have feelings of ending there life or at least ramming their car into an oncoming semi? I mean ever. Sometimes i wish that I could be put in a drug induced coma for like a month or something. Does anyone “normal” have these feelings like 2-3 times a week?
