Question by comet girl…DUCK!: Some questions about sunlight, light boxes and vitamin D.?
1. How long does one need to be in the sun each day to receive the USRDA of vitamin D?

2. How long does one need to be in the sun each day to avoid seasonal affective disorder (SAD)?

3. Can you get vitamin D from a light box?

4. I have a friend who says that to combat SAD she would go to a tanning booth and lie down fully clothed and with her head covered with a towel. If the light isn’t hitting your skin or your eyes how would this work?

5. Does anyone have a link to a site where I could purchase a light box?

The YMCA of Greater Seattle, has a HUGE mental health section. For a really good one you should try that.

Question by Deborah: Does this book take away women’s rights and can someone explain it please?
It’s called ‘Making Your Family Life Happy’. It is a study aid to the bible from Watchtower Society. Page 62 to 65 ‘The Weepers, The Naggers.’ On page 64-65 it says “Better to live alone in the desert than with a nagging and ill-tempered wife.” “Endless dripping on a rainy day – that is what a nagging wife is like. As well to try to control the wind as to control her!” Proverbs 17:9, 19:13, 21:19, 27:15-16. Then it says “Why do the scriptures single out the wife for this counsel? . . . . ”

I can’t see how the scriptures ‘single out’ women only for this counsel. It seems you have only chosen to pick out the scriptures that show women behave like this and omitted the ones which prove that men apply emotional pressure also. E.g. Amnon when he put pressure on Jehonadab and King David in order to take advantage of his sister, by whingeing about being ill. 2 Sam 13.

Question by You Know If You Could You Would: what happens to a girl if she gets pregnant while on accutane?
NO i’m not pregnant or plan to be for a long time, but i am curious about what they do with the women who do get pregnant on accutane? i know WHY you shouldn’t, but my doctor and the website/ information booklet doesn’t say what they do with these pregnant women… do they get into legal trouble? sued…fined? are they forced to get an abortion? would they do that while still on accutane? just curious.
