The ACLU is threatening to sue a California school district after it changed a policy to require teenagers get parental consent to leave campus for confidential medical services.

The Vista Unified School District board voted unanimously Thursday to change its existing policy that allowed students to be excused for confidential appointments — including abortions — without notifying parents, according to the North County Times.

The ACLU of San Diego County and the National Center for Youth Law claim the new policy violates state law, KPBS reported.

According to lawyers, California allows young people to leave school without parental consent to deal with sexual, mental, substance abuse or reproductive health issues, the station reported.

But school trustees say that depends on how the law is interpreted.

Question by jonsantarlas: Debt owed to Citi Bank But Sent To Collection Agency?
The agency is called gc services and they said they are willing to get rid of my finance charges and late fees if i pay half of the debt i owe. I originally owed them $ 3000 but they said if i pay 800 now and pay them back the rest within three months that it will clear up the debt owed to citi bank. This is my first time doing something like this so i accepted the deal and i have until two days to pay them the 800 but i got a statement today saying that i will be making the payment for eight hundred and they still have my original balance i owe them the 3000 and no mention of the deal we made on the phone so i got scared and went and took all my money out of the account. Are they trying to screw me?

so I have the fee waver to cover the classes i am going to take. but friend told me to apply for finacial aid. what is it?and also EOP, does anyone know what they are and for what please!!!

A fee waiver means the school isn’t charging you for the classes. Financial aid is a way to pay for the classes, if you were being charged. If you still don’t understand, you need to talk with someone in your school’s financial aid office.

Its for my 12th grade English class…I need to find sources on the topic and conduct an interview with someone knowledgeable on the topic. Anyone have some ideas? thanks!

Why don’t you do a research paper on “Career Counseling.” I’m sure your high school has a career counselor that you can interview. When you’re a senior in high school; you’re at a critical age with your career choices. Is college for you or do you want to go to a technical school or no school at all. Your career counselor at your high school is educated to help you with this decision.
