First of all, becoming a physical therapist “assistant” does not require a 4 yr college education.

Having a BA, or BS would benefit you, but it will cost you more, and take more time, that you evidently do not have now.

The minimum requirement in most states is an AA degree (60 college hrs, takes about two years)

To become a PT, you must go to a “tech school” to learn skills of physical therapy. You must also pass a state exam, check your own state for all the requirements necessary to apply for that test.

I’ve provided you with a place to read more about this occupation.
You can find schools on-line. But, none would give you ALL the skills necessary on-line.

You may be able to “pass a test” for your state license, but unless you do many hours of “hands on” work with real people, you will not have the people skills to be a physical therapist, not even an assistant.

Skills you need are learned “on the job” with practical training , (under direction of a certified physical therapist) not learned just out of books, except to pass the state written exam.

Most schools you pay to learn PT skills, will not guarantee that you can pass the state exams.
That’s why you need both “schooling” –AA degree — and OJT, to be more test wise, and earn your license.
