When my darling little canine daughter needed to be released from this life, I was with her. I was completely calm for her to insure a peaceful, loving farewell. Afterwards I went outside of the vet’s office and fell to the ground, out of my mind with pain.

It’s okay to cry.

Question by onereality: What do people mean when they say “You need to grieve.”?
How do I get over a huge loss? I don’t really know how to grieve. I have cried numerous times for almost a year but then what? What else is involved in the process?

Unfortunately, only time can answer this question…grieving is not something that has a set process that can be followed…using introspection you can examine key points about yourself and your loss while trying to comprehend what changes it can and will need to be made in your life…you could always make an appointment with a licensed therapist or even a school counselor depending on your age.
