Could Grief and Death Be Themes of a Story?

Question by Jabonzo One: Could grief and death be themes of a story?
I read a book recently about ghosts and it is for a book talk I have to present tomorrow. I need to find the two major themes of my book. Is it possible for “grief” and “death” to be the themes?? If yes, please explain why. I need this by tonight so please answer! Thank you

Having an open mind helps. I have experienced grief and death very close to me. I have felt the presence of others around me.
One place in particular was very intense and is an old slate mine in Cornwall called Carnglaze Caverns – I was with a small guided tour and felt as if I was surrounded by many people and it was quite oppressive and I could feel them around me.
The second time was when one of my own children died and I felt his presence around the house. One night he caused chaos by setting the illusion of doors opening and closing and wind gushing through the house upturning papers and generally causing mayhem. I shouted at him to stop and he did whan I told him it wasn’t funny.
Think about how my grief brought about the second occurrence and the grief and death of many caused the other to materialise in my mind.
