Question by : How do I convince my parents I need a psychologist?
I’ve had SERIOUS issues for the past four years. I know I definitely have depression and every day I want to end my life more and more but, regrettably, I’ve acted perfectly fine in front of my parents. I’m approaching my breaking point. I NEED to see a psychologist. I’ve released anger/sorrow by telling my friends, but it’s not the same. I need an adult’s opinion, and someone who HAS to listen and care.
But the problem is; 1. My parents are a really horrible type of Christian. They are arrogant fools and they believe that since psychology has some origins from a sexual beginning, ALL psychologists/counsellors cannot be trusted. So at the most they’ve allowed a Christian-psychologist. I don’t want one of these, because around 80% of my problems are based on my homosexuality, and as you probably know mosts Christians ignorantly hate gay people.
Please help.
