Hi, let me tell you my story and how I solved my acne problem.
I had mild acne that suddenly worsened, and no matter what, I kept getting pea-like pustules. Sport, dieting, extreme hygiene or creams had no effect. Besides, I loved that girl and didn’t dare to ask her out… And all those anxieties not only damaged my self-estreem, but started to affect my general health, since I started to have stomach problems. I was so desperate!!
Then, my doctor gave me the last option, the one that works for almost everybody: retinoid pills (usually named Accutane). He told me they required thorough medical control and had transitory side-effects. I made some digging on the net, and saw cases of permanent dryness, hair loss, liver problems… And I got very scared!!
But then I thought, what the hell!? Every medicin has potential big side effects if you see the paper that goes with it. Aspirins and vaccines have killed people!
But then I thought: “I have two options:”
Having *for sure* permanent scars and losing part of my life because of all the complexes…
Or having a few (bearable) side effects for 6 months and a *very very low possibility* of slightly worse problems.
And I chose the second. And it didn’t go that bad!!
The positive outcomes outweigh the sacrifices I had to do. 1000 times. Let’s see:
>>I had monthly blood tests to monitor my liver and cholesterol levels. If something had gone wrong, the doctors would have been able to stop the treatement before some serious happened… (You are not afraid of needles, do you?? XD).
>>I had to diet more and stop doing sport for a while (you mus take care of your joints).
Also, NO alcohol.
>>During the first two months, my acne gradually lost strength, then I had a one-week rash (that’s very common), and then *nothing else*.
>>At the same time, my lips started to dry a lot, but if you carry lip balms always with you, you can bear it. Besides, many people have cut lips and nobody cares, it’s not big deal. Also, my skin lost a bit of flexibility and hydratation, but applying creams solves it.
>>Also some days, after working with contact lenses all day, I felt my eyes a bit dry. But eye drops solve that.
>>And that’s all. Besides, I gained enough confidence to ask that girl out, and it went quite well!!
Retinoids have a 85% rate of success (at least in males), and everybody I know personally is satisfied.
The only true inconvinient is that you must avoid direct exposure to summer sunlight. If you want to do this treatment you’ll have to wait until September / October (however, I don’t know what people in very sunny places like Florida or Australia do…).
Going through a bad moment in life and overcoming your problems at this age is a turning point in somebody’s life.
Cheers!!
Hope this helps you.
