What Is Your Opinion on Why He Agreed to Get Me Pregnant?
Question by me: What is your opinion on why he agreed to get me pregnant?
I had been living with (then I moved out b/c of control issues on his part and i was confused) a man for 2-3 years. We cont to see each other. I was in school, so was he. I became preg accidentally, at first he was happy, so i was happy, then he would say things like ‘dont be too happy. Since he/i were in school, I had an abortion at the last moment- he was there. Immed I regretted this. I went through intense grief.
then, an old girlfriend of his, who caught wind of this situation, moved back into town to be with him. He told me it “was temporary till she left again in 3 months”.
I planned a trip to clear my mind and get away. He then said don’t go, I will get you pregnant, and we can start over. Next thing I knew, she was pregnant too. He wanted me to keep it a secret from her, “so she will go”. I ended up telling her. Then he wouldnt talk to me from that point on. ITs now 12 years later, and he is still the same way, sometimes saying “you blew it” and leaving it at that
Please dont tell me I was stupid, I know I was- I was in grief, working too hard, and little support at the time. I have always wondered though why he might have done this.
liz- perhaps I am just now really dealing with it, as I was so angry and hurt for a long time, I couldnt
Si-lin- I have to cont to deal w/ him b/c of the child. He went on to graduate, then got a good job (while I was w/ baby and didnt finish school then) and spent 40,000 trying to get custody over 4 years. He didnt but he wasted alot of my time. Now I have to deal with him, and he is mean to me.
Thanks to all who answer. I will think about each response very much
