A job offer says that your employement is contengent on the results of “drug and background screening check.” I dont use drugs so that is fine. What does background screening entails? –It is like finding your credit score?

A background check entails checking to see if you have a criminal record and also checks your credit reports. Poor credit is an indicator of poor dependability, drug usage, propensity to steal, etc.
