What Is a “Human Services Organization”?
Question by rock4u007z: What is a “Human Services Organization”?
Someone on Yahoo Answers says that they work here on weekends where they offer different services (?) as an extra income. The person didn’t offer a reply email so I’m asking this way.

A human services organization offers “people services” to a specific group of people in need. Their focus is usually to improve the mental, physical, emotional, or financial health and well being of their clients. A human services organization can have other purposes as well. Most of the time, they are non-profit, or contracting with the local, state, or federal government to provide community services.
The Department of Children and Families
The Kidney Foundation
Hospice Care
Department of Aging and the Elderly
Victim Aid, Abuse Programs
Counseling programs
Bridge to Independent Living
Food for the Hungry
Habitat for Humanity
Catholic Charities
These are all examples of Human Services Organizations
A human services organization will have a staff of employees, but will many times accept volunteer help as well.
