What Can I REALLY Do With a B.A in Psychology?
Question by Tracy: What can I REALLY do with a B.A in Psychology?
I’m not sure if I want to to continue on to Grad school after I graduate this May. Some websites and similar questions yielded answers of “case worker”, “disabilities counselor”, “mental health aide”, etc, I am wondering
A) Where do you find these jobs?
B) Some specific job titles that I can look up.
C) What do I look up on job sites like monster.com?
Thanks so much.
So, I’m boned, huh? I just don’t think I’ll do well in grad school.

You may be able to secure a position as a mental health tech at a hospital.
Try “mental health technician”, “Mental health aide”, “counselor”. Then weed through the results which allow bachelor’s level applicants.
Best of luck to you,

p.s. The bottom line truth is that you aren’t going to be able to practice independently (or do much of anything substantial in the field) unless you continue on to receive your Master’s or Ph.D. There are some positions available, but frankly, they are just “grunt work” (e.g., doing bed checks at a psych hospital or doing paperwork in a state agency).
