You need at least a masters degree to be able to legally counsel clients. There are several routes:
1. Get a Phd. in PsyD (counseling psychology.
2. Get a Masters Degree in Social Work (MSW)
3. Get a Masters Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT)

Of the three, I’d suggest getting a MSW. A licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) can counsel people and is not limited to marriage and/or family therapy. The MSW degree is very versatile and has an excellent job outloook.

A bachelors degree, or even a masters degree in Psychology, will not enable you to do this.

Best of luck
