What Are Some Good Books to Give to Someone Who Has a Dying Family Member?
Question by Jordan: What are some good books to give to someone who has a dying family member?
A friend of mine found out that his grandma has cancer and I want to give him a book that will help him cope with it. He’s not a child so I don’t want any books on “how to help children cope with death” and I’m pretty sure she’s in the beginning stages… obvioulsy not dead yet so I want to find a book specifically for coping with someone who is terminally ill but still alive. All I’ve been able to find are books on grieving after a loved one has already passed… and books for people who they themselves are dying. I don’t want any sites or articles I’m looking for BOOKS. Perferably easiliy obtainable ones, like those at Barnes and Nobles or Borders, etc.
I’m looking for a non-fictional self-help sort of book… perferably written by a therapist or grief counselor.

oh god. this is hard. how about any jodi picoult books: 19 minutes, my sister’s keeper, handle with care, change of heart, or second glance. they’re all good books and talk about letting go. they’re sad but truely amazing.
