I’ve been working at the same dead-end retail job for years and I need a change. I just got my BA in psych, and while I plan on going for an MS in social work in the future, I can’t fathom staying put at my current job for another 2 1/2 years as I complete the degree. I want to switch to a job that it is both more rewarding than what I’m doing now and fits with the human services field. I thought about substance abuse counseling because I am most interested by mental illnesses such as addiction. The process of getting licensed won’t take me that long, since my BA helps.
