Dual Diagnosis Treatment
Dual Diagnosis Treatment – Dual diagnosis treatment – Rachel finally got the right kind of help. www.therecoveryplace.net (877) 753-3869 Dual diagnosis treatment centers help addicts and alcoholics treat the underlying problems that are reinforcing their substance abuse issues. Rachel’s been clean for 14 months now, and the integrated dual diagnosis treatment she received at The Recovery Place is what made all of the difference. “Dual diagnosis is basically having more than one addiction or more than one problem that you are dealing with. Like depression, an eating disorder or some kind trauma. I experienced a very traumatic life. I was born into addiction; both of my parents were addicts.” The Dual Diagnosis Treatment Program at The Recovery Place works closely with clients to address both sides of the problem. Working on only the addiction or only the underlying factor is a major reason why people relapse. It is crucial to receive integrated dual diagnosis treatment for addiction linked with disorders such as anxiety, OCD, depression, PTSD, bipolar and other mental health problems.

Residential Alcohol Rehab: Reasons to Consider Alcohol Rehab
Those whose drinking has become problematic may find that a stint of rehab could help them regain control over alcohol and get their life back on track.
Alcohol rehab can include a stay in a residential centre or be managed whilst you continue to live in your own home. Both options may work for different people but this article will focus on residential rehab.
Here are a few reasons to consider residential alcohol rehab.
1. You will usually undergo a supervised alcohol detox. This removes alcohol from your system and addiction experts use medication to help you overcome the worst effects of alcohol withdrawal, such as nausea, dizziness, sweating and even hallucinations. Once you have detoxed, you will be able to focus better on the emotional and mental aspects of beating an addiction to alcohol.

Question by River side: Can you do “art therapy” on your own or do you have to have a professional do it?
I’ ve been going through a tough time and have focused on my art work because I consider it therapeutic. I told someone this and he said that it’s NOT “art therapy” because if it was art therapy, I’d be doing the art with a mental health professional. Is this true? So is what I do not art therapy?

I disagree; it acts as occupational therapy, keeping activity out of less desirable areas of the brain, and anyone (even me, with minimal talent) can do abstract, primitive, or impressionist art.

What Is Dual Diagnosis?
When a person is suffering from a substance abuse problem simultaneously with another mental disorder, he is said to have dual diagnosis.
Substance abuse, as most people are aware of, is the addiction to drugs, such as cocaine, heroin, and marijuana. It is not uncommon that mental health problems, such as depression, anxiety, or bipolar disorder, develop in people who have become addicted to drugs and other stimulating chemicals. It can happen the other way round as well. The people affected by mental problems resort to drugs as a way to find peace. Either way, it is a deadly combo – substance abuse and mental disorders.
