How Do I Become a Counsellor?
Question by Josefine: How do i become a counsellor?
I’m considering studying abroad (The US) I don’t know anything about Bachelor degrees or Master of Arts etc. I’ve read everything i could find but it doesn’t make any sense.
The educational system in Sweden isn’t the same as in the US and i’m currently studying “nursing” on a upper secondary level. I’m not sure what the equivalent of gymnasium is in America. But i do know that the most correct comparison to gymnasium is High School, only it’s a vocational education.
I would like to study at college or a university for an uncertain amount of time, but i don’t know how long i have to study and how to go about it. Do i need some sort of degree and if so, what or which?

Question by Hopeful: Is speech therapy or occupational therapy the better career choice?
I’m thinking about applying to masters programs in occupational therapy and speech therapy. I was just wondering which one is the better career when it comes to job satisfaction, salaries, and career outlook. Would it be easier to find a job in a rural area as an occupational therapist or a speech therapist?

It’ll be easier to find a job as an OT. I believe both has great job satisfaction and a good salary. They’re both along the lines of helping its just would you rather help someone talk or use ADLS and IADLS

Best answer:
Answer by S
First you have to have a Bachelors degree then you have to apply to a Masters program that offers a psychology program for clinicians. Once you have that, then you go on to get a PH. D. Usually, the bachelors is in science and this process takes years, it is not difficult to get in, just difficult to afford and follow through because of the years of study.
