My Son Has Been Called the “N” Word for the Past 2 Years at School by Numerous White Males?
Question by : My son has been called the “N” word for the past 2 years at school by numerous white males?
Apparently there are a bunch of white males who call the black students the “N” word and this year it got really bad. The school tried to convince him to “anonymously” give names so they could nip it in the bud. When he did that they said they couldn’t do anything until he gives names of witnesses, dates, times, locations etc.” He and some of his friends complied but the school only made phone calls to parents and “counseled” the students. One of the boys has said “the reason whites are called crackers is cuz we crack the whip on you “N’s”.

Do I Really Need to Go to a Counsellor?
Question by xjuicyxfruityx: Do I really need to go to a counsellor?
Basically it all started because I needed an extension for a piece of work.
I was refered to Student Guidence & Support to explain my reasons for wanting one. So I began my story…..which involves the death of my ex boyfriend and how that has affected my ability to keep on top of work as well as recent illnessess.
Anyways I was telling the whole story and for some reason when the woman said “So u’ve been coping with grief…” I started to cry! OMG so embarrassing!
Anyways she has advised me to come back for a chat and see one of the University counsellors…
But is this necessary?
Doesnt going mean I am admitting I have some kind of problem?
More Italian Questions…?
Question by er0920: more Italian questions…?
1. I want to tell an Italian relative that I graduated with degrees in “Education” and “Counseling,” and that my brother has a degree in “Journalism.”
First, what is the word for “degree?”
Second, I believe that I could translate “education” as “l’insegnamento” and “giornalism” as “il giornalismo.” But what about “counseling?” (as in: Mental health counseling…not a “counselor” like a lawyer). Is “consigliera” the correct word for this?
2. If I tell her that I am presently working as a math tutor, is it appropriate to say that I am “un’istitutrice di matematica?” If not, how should it be said.
3. I want to tell her that, despite my brother’s background in journalism, he has become interested in Nutrition and is looking into becoming a nutritionist and/or personal trainer. Does it make sense if I say the following: “Il mio fratello si é interessato al nutrizione e la buona salute. Allora, vuole l’impiego della questa sorta.” Please feel free to make any grammatical corrections to this sentence.
