Coming Down From Vicodin?

Question by C-BIZZLE: Coming down from Vicodin?
Has anyone ever been addicted to Vicodin and quit?

My friend is going thru this and is freaking out.. he seems like he is strung out and can’t stop moving. We tried to sleep last night but he couldn’t calm down. I gave him some Nyquil and he got tired but his nerves were still shot.

How long will this last and is there anything I can do to ease him and his nerves during this time?
he was doing it for about 4 months and 2 to 5 pills a day.

A Job as a Drug and Alcohol Counselor?

Question by Jenn: A job as a drug and alcohol counselor?
Do I have to get some type of degree to become and drug and alcohol counselor or get certified to be one?

Best answer:

Answer by engakwasdky
Yes and Yes.

As far as degrees go, you will have to get at least a bachelor’s degree in social work or other mental health field (psychology, sociology, etc.). Now, some facilities will hire you with just a bachelor’s degree and give you the title of a “counselor”, but MOST facilities require you to have a master’s degree in mental health counseling, counseling psychology, or social work. And as a word of advice, most places require you to have a master’s degree in social work (MSW) for insurance billing purposes.

Do You Think My Dad’s Health Insurance Would Cover Therapy for Me?

Question by ??????? ? JON ? ???????: Do you think my dad’s health insurance would cover therapy for me?
I am 20, and I’d like to go to psychological therapy this summer, a few sessions maybe, but I don’t want my parents to know. I do have my dad’s health insurance card though…do you think therapy would be covered? I know you don’t know his exact plan…but is therapy one of those things that’s never covered, or maybe is it always? Thanks for any help.
Libbyami: Should have seen that coming. Why do people always assume I don’t have a job? I do. And I’m a full time student. But I don’t want to go to their counseling services because I’m always afraid I’ll see someone there.

It varies. Some plans cover mental health and some don’t. Check with your dad’s insurance provider. All health questions are confidential.
