Son Cannot Get Out of Bed and Go to School?
Question by app1eman: Son cannot get out of bed and go to school?
What can I do to help my son? I think I am doing my best. The background is this. He has lost a bit of respect for me as I have just come out of a 2 year clinical depression. He is 15 years old, very brigght and atends the local high school.
His has personal problems. Just 4 weeks ago he was arrested in possession of marajuana. He got off with a caution. My wife and I decided we have to punish him ourselves. As well as try to understand his social probs at school.
He seems to have lost all his friends at school when before he prided himself with all his friendships at a tough school.
I found a dear friend who agreed to offer him “community service” at his local charity shop. This is someone Chris had a great deal of respect for but he still flared up at me and my wife when we explained that he had to talk to Dave about servining in the shop and as a form of “punishment”, though we did not want to call it that. He won’t commit and now wont go to school. Where now???!! Please come bac
Need to close this one. Yes, part of it is my problem and my wife’s – we have been unable to find a common approach till now – I hope. Anyway, Chris is happier now.I think he accepts I care about him but I need to relax and give him a chance to improve his behaviour.
However he will still be in trouble if he does not get out of bed – and he will still be “doing time” with DAve at the charity shop.
