Should I Tell My New Boss I Have Depression?
Question by kewpie_doll76: Should I Tell My New Boss I Have Depression?
I started a new job 6 weeks ago and have been sick with a chest infection for the last week I’m going back to work tomorrow but feel anxious. Depression has been an underlying issue over the last few months due to another issue and being sick has made it worse. I’ve suffered depression from my teens (I’m now 35). There is just a bit of pressure with this job and I was yelled at by a customer which upset me. I’m not unhappy there but feel anxious everyday like I have to prove myself and I feel pressure. I don’t have to tell my work that I suffer from depression but and worried if I do they might think I can’t handle my job and will fire me. I’m going to see a therapist starting next week which should help me a great deal. I don’t see any point getting another job as everyone has some kind of stress in their working life. What should I do?
