Question by : should I put that I am a recovering alcoholic on my social work school application?
I am applying to Grad School in Social Work and it is somewhat pertinent that I am a recovering alcoholic. Should I put that information on my application?
Thank you for your answers, I’ll add a little context: this is in the essay portion of the application and I have plenty of space to add context. Part of the reason I’m pursuing social work is to work with people who have substance abuse problems.

That’s a tough one. If you do put it, it might increase your chances of a no. But then again they might decide that your making an effort
