Question by Poncho: What types of therapy and counseling are available to help children with ADHD?
I am doing research on ADHD and I need this question answered.

As a person with AD HD, their is therapy with yoga which helps you calm down situations with breathing. Their are also programs which help you improve your working memory, (check out Cog med).Often people with AD HD use stress balls, and other tools which help stimulate them. Additionally, their are “exposure” therapies, where the psychologist may expose them to a small amount of what causes them to be hyper, then work on ways to calm them selves down. Their are also stimulation pills, which increase focus but increase hyperactivity, and other pills which may do the opposite of these.

feel like my life is so boring when im not on any type of drug at all its horrible i smoke pot during the week everyday actually and then the major durgs come in on the weekend im only 17 and this is want i think about /look forward to ever weekend when im sobar all i think about is getting drugs
last weekend was the worst binge i have had yet i did methadone,pot,opium,shrooms,coke and vicodin all within the hour and was up on all the **** for 3 days and havnt felt completley normal since i dont know if i should be concerned about the way i have been feeling but even the next weekend knowing i still didnt feel all there i did some extacy weed and coke and i added to the feeling of being totally out of it what should i do i cant stop thinkin about getting ****** up all the time i even planned on doing it this weekend even tho i know i shouldnt i cant convince myself not to
please help me i dont want to go to rehab or anuthing i just wanna be able to have fun but be able to stop when i want and not have it control my whole life what should i do is my life being setup for failure?
am i addicted?

i’ve been seeing my therapist for 3-4 times now. He is my first and only therapist so I couldn’t compare, but i felt like he has been kind of unresponsive, he is extremely nice and compassionate, but he doesn’t seem to ask a lot of questions or gives me actual tips on how to overcome my poblems. For the sessions i’ve had, he just pretty much let me talk about my week, and when i ran out of things to say, the long silence came in… he occasionally ask me questions but most of the time i have to keep on talking, and he just sits there and nod.

im not sure if this is a particular method to let the patient open up and discuss freely, but i wish he could’ve offered more, maybe he’s just using a method i’m not used to.

It’s now official. Obama has selected Joe Biden for Vice President.

I can’t believe he picked Biden. Obama has just destroyed his chances at becoming the next president. McCain will pick a liberal leaning Republican and get all the former Hillary supporters. There’s a lot of Reagan Democrats who will turn to a Republican if they feel they need to and that’s what will happen with most of the Hillary supporters. I can’t believe he didn’t choose Hillary for VP, it was his only chance at winning.
