what salary can a private practice pshycologist expect to make?

what is the required schooling involved? if you currently have a BA can you go for your masters or are there required science/psych classes as pre-requisites? which classes would i need for prereqs and duration?

Clinical psychologist requires a PhD. Counselors (e.g. “marriage & family counseling”) requires a master’s degree.

If you are in private practice, you do not get a salary. You earn your billings paid, less office rent and other business expenses (including licenses and annual continuing education costs, office furnishings & supplies, etc). Billing is typically $ 150/hour. Insurance for covered psychological counseling pays a PhD with ten or more years experience just $ 65/hour for a max of 20 hours, and takes at least 90 days to pay you.

Have you ever supported a church, temple, mosque or other faith-based establishment even though you do not subscribe to that faith simply because they are doing good works for the community?

There is a local church that I give money to on occasion because they run a food bank that is very important to the people in the area. It costs $ 50,000 a year to run, and they cannot get state help because the are on the boarder of two states. The state they are in insists that any resouces from them go only to state residents, but 90% of the people who use the food bank come from across the boarder. The other state won’t help them becuase it isn’t in their state. So they rely upon donations. I am not Christian, but these people are really helping a lot of people, so I support them.

When I was a kid, my fahter used to tease me when a boy liked me. So much that it made me want to hide all feelings and thoughts about boys from my family because of it. It has turned into hell as an adult. I met someone and decided to not intro him to my family. Even after he asked me to marry him. In the mean time, I got pregnant and lost the baby and 9 mos after that, my Fiancé was killed in a construction accident in the south while helping his father. It was then that I told my family everything. They supported me for 3 days and that was that. It has been a few yrs since he died and over that time, I found out that no one believes me that he existed. I have proof but I dont want to share it because it is a video of us “togehter” so it is a personal thing. Everyone has treated me so badly and I have had no one help me deal with his loss. Not long ago my best friend of 13yrs died and no one was there for me for that either. I feel so alone. What should I do about family and this?
