Organisers of the 2nd Virtual Conference on Counselling

Organisers of the 2nd Virtual Conference on Counselling – I interviewed Marty Jencius and Debra London who are organising the 2nd Virtual Conference on Counselling.Marty and Debra have assembled more than 60 presenters who will deliver over 40 presentations on a variety of subjects around mental health, counselling and counsellor education. I talked with Marty and Debra about their inspiration to organise this conference, highlights from last year and what they are looking forward to this year. Last year around 100 people attended the first conference that was delivered exclusively in a virtual environment and was also available to view on our website. The conference considered cutting edge issues including counsellor training, identity and suicide in virtual environments.Although the conference was held online many of the topics were of interest to practitioners in more traditional settings eg supervision, diversity and ongoing development of self awareness.
