Need Help on Experimental Method Questions (For Pyschology)?
Question by Matt N: Need help on Experimental Method questions (for Pyschology)?
Here is the question given to me by my Pyschology instructor:
On a talk show, Dr. Flummox announces a fabulous new program: Chocoloate Immersion Therapy. “People who spend one day a week doing nothing but eating chocolate are soon cured of eating disorders, depression, drug abuse, and poor study habits,” claims Dr. Flummox. Provide 3 questions to test his claims before you sign up for C.I.T. These three questions MUST use the principles of experimental method to be valid questions.
Here are 2 questions I came up with, I know the experimental method has to do with cause and effect, I am hoping these 2 I have so far are okay and am trying to come up with the third question:
1.) What types of clinical trials on C.I.T. have been performed to support your claims that such cures are possible?
2.) Why would you need to eat nothing but chocolate only one day a week for these cures to take place?
3.) ???

This may be a sort of sub-question of your first but how about where did he derive the sample sizes in testing his hypothesis with regard to both control group and experimental group?
