my family has a long history of depression and ive been dealing with it for a few years now. its getting to a point where i cant control it or myself. i need help desperatly but have no insurance. i called the county health center and was told i needed to have been admitted to a hospital at least twice inorder to be seen by someone there. its ruinging my relationship and my life and i feel i have nowhere else to turn. anybody know where else i can find psychiatric help.

If you have a family doctor who you’ve seen in the past, I suggest you call their office and make an appointment. When you see the doctor you can tell him/her that you don’t have insurance so you’ve been putting off the visit… I’m 99.9% sure your doctor would discount the cost of the office visit and give you samples of antidepressants to get you started. Or, at the very least, they can set up a payment plan for you to pay $ 25 a month to cover the cost of the visit…plus there are a LOT of meds available that are only $ 4 for a month’s supply at Wal-mart. You never know until you make that call. I think it’s worth the effort. :0) I hope this helps….
