How Should I Include My Grad Classes in My Cover Letter?

Question by Ren: how should i include my grad classes in my cover letter?
Im looking for a position as a probation/parole officer and would like to include in my cover letter that Im currently taking grad classes in “counseling” and feel this will benefit the position–is this a good idea? I resigned from my position (in behavioral health) on good terms last October, to take grad classes to be more familiar with counseling–is it a good idea to include this in the cover letter? I dont have a Masters–Im just taking classes to improve my understanding of counseling techniques. Any Feedback will be great!!!!!

I suggest three paragraphs in your cover letter.
1) introduction describing why you want this job, and giving a compelling thesis statement.
2) Support your thesis by talking about your past (work and education), present (current educational goals*), and future (what you hope to achieve by working at their company, and vice versa).
3) Reiterate the thesis, and summarize their goals and how they are in line with yours.

Or you can just put in on the resume.
