How Old Were You When You Had Your First Child? Did It Make You Grow Up? How Did It Change Your Perception?

Question by Aloha: How old were you when you had your first child? Did it make you grow up? How did it change your perception?
I love to read comments (stories) of how children have enhanced the lives of their parents. Too often I hear of how “children are a burden” or “they cost a lot of money” and “my kids bring me grief” and so on. While these things are certainly unescapable; there are many wonderful memories and dreams to come, about our legacies. Will you share your experience?

I dont ever view my children as a burden, costing me money or bringing me grief. I am blessed to have them.
I was had just turned 22 when I had my daughter. She was born at 23.5 weeks gestation and was critically ill most of the first yr of her life. YES she made me stronger. She made me go from being selfish to selfless, from “what can you do for me” to “what can I do for you” I am honestly a better person 100% just for having her she made me strong, outspoken, confiendnt and who I am today. After her birth I was told I would never be able to have another child and if I got pregnant I’d never be able to carry to term. 14 months ago I had my second child I was just turning 35. He was born 5 weeks early and they are honestly my resons for waking up in the morning and taking every breath I take.
