Question by Sally Cat: How much money is it to see a therapist for social anxiety?
I just need to know the average amount of money for it. I’ve had social anxiety for 20 years and I am sick and tired of living with this fear. I don’t want this to be my life. And I’m tired of people telling me “Just stand up to your fear, don’t see a therapist” because that advise does nothing for me. I need a professional who is educated on this type of anxiety.
Fruntl Lobe: My age is 20. I’ve had this anxiety my entire life, which is why I say 20 years. I know I shouldn’t really count when I was a baby, but it’s basically 20 years. I couldn’t get help on my own because my parents would never pay for a therapist. I had to wait to get a job to pay for one myself.

Many communities with have a community health center, you should try to ask there first. If you dont have the money to see one,they will attempt to have you pay on a sliding scale, in other words the amount will be based on your income.

Good luck. If that doesnt work maybe try contacting a local university that teaches psychiatry, they will have resources and probably free!!
