Question by bunny718: How long does it take to get over a broken engagement?
My fiance and I broke things off 4 weeks ago. It was more my decision than his. I miss him, but I feel that it will be better for me in the long run. He is a wonderful person, but he is bipolar and his moods were draining on me. I could only imagine how this would be exacerbated in the future by the stress of having kids, ect.

What would be a “normal” amount of time to process grieving and move on, start dating again?

i dont think you ever really get over it for years! but i suggest waiting until you feel comfortable being close to someone again, and wait until you dont cry at the thought of what happened, 5 or 6 months is plenty of time, no need to take years either. you are human!
