How Good Are the Chances of a Orphaned Young Hawks Survival,?

Question by monkeywrench: How good are the chances of a orphaned young hawks survival,?
After having ben confiscated by the fish and game department for ” rehabilitation” and released? this bird had a broken femur but was alert and consumed hamburger meat when we found it after a wind storm.
It would certainly have survived if they would have set the femur and allowed me to have cared for it !

IHi, 8 Ball, I cannot believe that they would release it until & unless the femur was healed, as it most certainly could not survive. But a broken bone can be set, & if that is done, & the bird is kept in captivity,it will be mature by late summer, & can be released then,..So, it all depends on what they do with it,..
