Going to Public School, Need to Know How School Counselors “work”?

Question by : going to public school, need to know how school counselors “work”?
so I am in desperate need of some serious mental health help, It’s such a long story it really really is. But I was wondering if they even have time to listen to all of the children’s problems of course I kinda do hold my issues higher since It is very serious and urgent and I have so many troubles which I cannot even begin to explain in this question (not normal “I’m a 14 year old, my parents suck, my boyfriend of 2 weeks broke up with me” crap) It is so very serious….
anyways I was wondering if it is free?
How do students make time to go to a school counselor with studies?
Lastly can you tell them about sexual, emotional, physical, past life threatening neglect and abuse without them calling CPS?

it is free and they will listen. try to make time before during or after school if you dont have time give up a lunch. and with every counselor its different if you say dont tell you never know if they will listen or not.
