Fiance Is a Mama’s Boy?

Question by little_beth85: fiance is a mama’s boy?
My fianced is a mama’s boy. he makes almost no decisions on his own, and we’ve just bought a house. This woman has decorated our house (we’re paying the bills, not her) from paint to dishes to carpet and flooring. needless to say, I’m pissed, and my fiance doesn’t see why. Anyone have any ideas, suggestions? I just don’t know what to do to make the situation any different. I am also in counseling for depression and anorexia, and he talked to his mom about that. they decided that i don’t need that counseling “because it’s expensive and we should put that money towards the house.” I’m sick of everything being his mother’s opinions, and his mother’s thoughts, not his. it hasn’t always been like this, only since we bought the house. Any advice would be welcome……

It will not get any better as time goes along. Either he has to stop this or it will only continue to get worst, make sure that you tell him how you feel in a way that won’t make him shut down and not talk about this. If she has only done this since you two brought the house I would be surprised, she might have been this way with him before and you didn’t noticed. One thing you can do is when she starts to decorate something, nicely say I will find another place for that because I have already picked out what will go there. If she acts like her feelings got hurt, just ignore it. Don’t validate it or she will get her way. Well, for one thing it isn’t any of her business what you two spend you money one and please don’t stop going to counseling. One thing we should never do is talk to our parents about our spouse. it leads them to believe they can get involved into it. You need to think about this, because I lived it for 3 years. She was one of the worse and he couldn’t stand up to her.

Goldberg is better in her scenes counseling an anorexic teenager (Erin Wilhelmi, excellent in a small turn). Indeed, those scenes are some of the most interesting in the show. But it's unclear whether we're supposed to understand that Paige is doing a …
