Exactly Why Should I Feel Appreciation for God’s “sacrifice” of His Only Begotten Son?
Question by Printninja: Exactly why should I feel appreciation for god’s “sacrifice” of his only begotten son?
According to Christians, god is omnipotent, omniscient, and immortal. He/she/it can do anything, be anything… basically change the universe the way we take a breath.
Ergo, god could have as many “sons” as god wants. If god can do anything, and have anything, than god cannot SACRIFICE. Even if Jesus was god, sacrifice is an impossible concept for an all powerful being, because it can never be less than it is. Therefore, there is no reason why I should *feel* anything concerning god’s so called loss, because it could not happen.
This is just another slick control method the creators of this religion employed. They obviously knew that humans could relate powerfully to the concept of losing a child, so they wrote it in to make the followers feel guilt.
An eight year old child can think through the contradictions in this religion, which I guess is why I became an atheist at seven.

honestly, I can’t argue with you. I began questioning my catholic religion at age 8; I continuously asked questions that my priests and teachers could not answer me. They even had to lie through most explanations and it was plum ridiculous. I became a spiritualist with my own faith at age 8 years old.

A father’s loss of a son – inspired by the movie – I watched this movie called “The 5th Quarter Movie” based on a true story and it was so emotionally moving that is inspired me to edit some scenes and put out a teaser in hope that it will create a thirst for you to see it. What I show is just the beginning of the story. Here is a little about I took from the site: In February 2006, young Luke Abbate accepted a ride home from a fellow student following his high-school team practice. In a severe case of irresponsible and reckless teen-age driving, and over the objections of Luke and the other young passengers, the driver lost control of the car at nearly 90 miles-per-hour, spinning off a narrow road and landing in an embankment some seventy feet below. Luke suffered irreparable brain damage, and died in the hospital two days later — just four days before his sixteenth birthday. What follows after this event is inspirational and motivational. I was totally moved by this story and it was very well done. Check out the site: the5thquartermovie.com Here is a link to his foundation in rememberance of Luke: www.LukeAbbate5thQuarter.org
