Do You Have Any Advice for a First Time “therapist” ?

Question by Sierra: do you have any advice for a first time “therapist” ?
in my basic counseling skills class our instructor is having everyone act as a “therapist” and videotaping the whole thing..it’s gonna be graded….and i have no idea what to say!! i read all the required text…also, we don’t know anything about our client until we get to class, so i can’t plan what i’m gonna say ahead of time..

Don’t say “How do you feel about that?”, a lot. And don’t jiggle your leg, ask a lot of questions, or be generally annoying. Hahah.
