Question by bugaboo: How do you live with someone suffering from chronic pain?
My husband has been suffering from chronic pain for the past few years. It can be very depressing to be around. The pain has become a third person in our marriage. He has taken antidepressants but they have sexual side efects. A lot of times I feel like he’s mad at me but he isn’t. It’s just the pain consuming his life. The kids think he’s always in a bad mood. I asked him how he was this morning and he snapped at me asking “how does it look like I feel??”

I understand the “in sickness and in health” part, but at some point do I start to feel resentment for not being happy as well?

YA people jump to the counseling mantra for every issue placed here. My question is for the people who used or are using counselors. Is it working, or did it work. Please tell your story. Remember Beverley De’Angelis (sp)? Married 5 times but she was a “licensed counselor”?

I don’t believe in counselors or psychologists. I can’t believe people are willing to pay all that money every week to have a third person listen to their problems. My husband and I have been together 5 years, married 3 years and we’ve yet to have an argument. This isn’t to say we don’t disagree on things, we simply don’t let it escalate to an argument. We talk about it, we respect each other’s opinions and we usually see eye to eye on everything.

Question by patzky99: can you make your own fate? or does fate imply no choice?
can you influence things that will happen to you? if so, how? if not, would you like to be able to do this? how might you go about it?

extra credit: how can you ‘tempt’ fate?
oh yes i agree shika… risks ARE worth taking! are you fated to take those risks?

No matter what situation ‘fate’ may place you in, you still have the ‘choice’ of choosing to learn the lessons that that situation offers to you. Of course, you can also choose not to learn from your situation. When you don’t learn, the situation will continue to occur (continue to be your ‘fate’) until you learn from it and move on to your next lesson (fate) in your life.

Question by : Why do most hypnosis tapes want you to listen for 21 days?
I have noticed almost all tapes say to listen for 21 days. Is there a reason for this?

It takes 21 days to form a habit so they want you to listen to it that long to hopefully get you to form the habits they are projecting for your.
